It started under warranty
A written factory or certified pre-owned warranty covered the concern when it first appeared. An expired warranty today does not necessarily erase that history.
The LYRIQ routes propulsion, braking, displays, cameras, and cabin functions through interdependent electrical systems. A gray rearview screen may call for a different remedy than a blank driver display, while battery and rear-drive-unit faults can interrupt propulsion altogether. Each symptom needs its own record.

A LYRIQ may support a federal warranty claim when a substantial covered EV, braking, display, suspension, or restraint condition remains after reasonable Cadillac repair opportunities. Over-the-air or dealer software work can be relevant, but it must be connected to the reported defect and tested for recurrence.

Start with the repair history
The key question is not whether other LYRIQ owners had the same complaint. It is whether your own substantial defect arose under warranty and remained unresolved after a reasonable opportunity to repair it.
A written factory or certified pre-owned warranty covered the concern when it first appeared. An expired warranty today does not necessarily erase that history.
The same symptom returned, the service center could not duplicate it, parts or updates did not fix it, or the vehicle accumulated significant downtime.
The problem is more than an annoyance and materially limits the LYRIQ’s operation, reliability, value, or safe use.
What happens next
Share what the LYRIQ does, when it happens, the warning messages, and each attempt to diagnose or repair it.
We compare the warranty and repair timeline with the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and the applicable state lemon law.
The facts may support pursuing a refund, replacement, or cash-and-keep settlement. Availability varies, and no result is guaranteed.
Vehicle-specific issue guide
Depending on model year, trim, and powertrain, the themes below have been documented in public NHTSA records and manufacturer safety campaigns. They are starting points for organizing your records—not a claim that every LYRIQ is affected.
Defined LYRIQ builds have been addressed for out-of-position or incorrectly welded pack connections and, on some newer vehicles, missing or loose battery-to-floor bolts.
Insufficient insulation in rear electric-motor wiring can permit contact between conductors and cause a loss of drive power in affected 2024 vehicles.
Certain all-wheel-drive LYRIQs may unexpectedly activate ABS and release service-brake pressure. Preserve pedal response, road conditions, speed, warnings, and brake-module programming.
Software and display-related actions cover driver information that may disappear at startup or while driving. Record what warnings and speed information were unavailable and whether programming held.
A rearview screen can turn gray or show no camera image on defined vehicles. Preserve the selected gear, screen state, startup sequence, software level, and each recurrence.
Improperly tightened front stabilizer-bar bracket bolts can separate and damage nearby high-voltage cables or battery-coolant lines. Document noise, handling, leaks, and inspection results.
An improperly welded bracket can affect the left-rear and center-rear belt anchors in certain LYRIQs. Identify the seating position and retain seat-frame inspection or replacement records.
Build the paper trail
Save LYRIQ app messages, charging state, high-voltage and propulsion alerts, display photographs, software versions, brake behavior, suspension noises, tow records, and days unavailable. Ask whether a remedy involved the battery pack, rear drive unit, module programming, connector work, or only a reset.
Common questions
Not always. A severe propulsion loss, tow, battery repair, or lengthy high-voltage diagnosis may justify review after one event. Recurrence and additional downtime strengthen the chronology, but no single visit count controls every federal or state claim.
They affect different information and may involve different modules or software. Document each separately: which screen failed, whether the LYRIQ was starting or in Reverse, what remained visible, the repair performed, and whether that same failure returned.
It may be relevant if Cadillac identified the update as the remedy for the reported ABS condition. Preserve the notice, installed version, completion date, and any later unexpected braking so the remote work is not lost from the warranty timeline.
Keep state of charge, warnings, diagnostic codes, isolation or connection tests, battery or drive-unit part numbers, charging history, tow records, and repair duration. Ask the dealer to identify whether the concern was pack hardware, motor wiring, cooling, or control software.
Follow recall notices, warning messages, and Cadillac's safety instructions; legal review is not a substitute for repair guidance. Whether a cash-and-keep, refund, or replacement remedy is pursued depends on the individual facts and law, not on a promise that continued driving is safe.
